The Biarritz - Royal Staffordshire ART DECO Plate - Lady Seated in a Landscaped Garden<br>We are pleased to offer from our personal collection, this Art Deco plate featuring a Lady Seated in a Landscaped Garden. The plate is designed in the manner of The Biarritz plates by Royal Staffordshire, however, this example is not marked. It is one of the loveliest examples from the period.<br>The lady is seated on a garden bench wearing a pink dress and holds onto a flowering branch in one hand and her hat in the other. Lush floral bushes nearby and the pink flowering tree above, but beyond, you see a stone pathway, a hill, trees, a pond, a sundial and other structures filling a peaceful landscape. We have not seen anything like this in the past and acquired the plate over 40 years ago in our hunt of interesting items to add to our collection.<br>Having the rectangular shape with a circular dip in the center and four raised corners makes it the perfect item to display on the wall or inside a cabinet on a stand. The only mark that we found is an impressed number on the backside which reads '<br>72<br>'. The plate is in excellent condition and appears free of any disturbing issues.<br>Please Note:<br>Though the plate appears similar to The Biarritz plates made by Royal Staffordshire, it is unmarked. It weighs approximately 1 lb., 2 ounces. All measurements are approximate, but close.<br>Condition<br>: We carefully examined this item. NO Chips, Cracks, Scratches, Stains, Repairs or Restorations were noted. Only the slightest amount of wear from previous use can be found if you carefully scrutinize the color images, but none serious enough to be distracting. Its earthenware body has a very even, fine crazing to the glaze that is not distracting, but mentioned for accuracy. Please take the time to carefully examine all the photographs for more details.
